How we price
a drum kit
and how to read Polmuz names and codes
price = drums + finish + add-ons
The price of a custom Polmuz drum kit is the sum of three things: the drums, the finish and the add-ons. Every drum has its own price, which depends on the model and the size. The finish and the add-ons are priced separately for each drum. Example: a Model 2 in 20/12/14 with natural wax costs PLN 5,809.
Below I lay it all out in tables and explain how to read the names and product codes of our drums. You can price your own kit in a few minutes.
- Model 2 drum from PLN 1,061 up to PLN 2,953, depending on the size
- Model 1 drum from PLN 1,725 up to PLN 3,958, in maple or birch
- Finish from PLN 100 per drum: natural wax PLN 100, oil (Satin) or lacquer PLN 500, flat black PLN 590

How to read the name of a Polmuz drum kit
The name of every kit tells you, in order: what wood it is made of, which model it is, what sizes it has and how it is finished.
The full name of this kit: Polmuz Maple Model 1 – 20/12/16 – Satin White.
Wood
The first word after the brand is the wood: Maple, Birch, Walnut, Bubinga or Tulipwood. Acrylic means a shell made of acrylic instead of wood.
Model
The model number tells you what kind of kit it is and where it is made.

Sizes
The numbers between the slashes are drum diameters in inches, always in the same order: bass drum, toms, floor toms. 20/12/16 means a 20″ bass drum, a 12″ tom and a 16″ floor tom. 22/10/12/16 is a 22″ bass drum, 10″ and 12″ toms and a 16″ floor tom.
In custom kits the snare drum is not included in the price or in the name. If a snare comes with the kit, we add SD, for example 22/12/16/14SD. In Model 3 and Model 4 the last number, 14, is the snare, because those kits come with one.
Depths are standard and you will find them in the price table. A 20″ bass drum, for example, is 16″ deep.

The last part of the name is the finish. The most common words:

How we price a custom drum kit
We always count it the same way.
- Drums. We add up the prices of the drums from the table for the model you choose.
- Finish. The price of the finish times the number of drums.
- Add-ons. Also priced per drum, for example stainless steel screws.
- Anything unusual. Artistic painting and other ideas beyond the price list are quoted individually.

Drum prices: Model 2 and Model 1
The price of a drum depends on the model and the size. We build Model 1 in maple or in birch, at the same price.

Custom snare drums
A snare drum is priced separately. The price includes chrome hardware and heads.

Die Cast is a snare with die-cast hoops, Focus Ring is a snare with a ring inside the shell. You will find ready snare drums in the store.
What the price of a drum includes
- a shell with a 45° bearing edge, milled, polished and waxed,
- chrome hardware: lugs, hoops and tension rods,
- a tom mount that does not drill through the shell, floor tom legs and bass drum legs,
- heads: Evans on Model 1, Polmuz branded or Remo Encore on Model 2,
- a single coat of oil and wax inside the shell,
- a label with the owner’s name,
- a lifetime warranty on the shell and 36 months on the hardware.
You choose the snare drum, stands, cymbals and a tom holder or clamp separately.
Finish: price per drum
A finish is always added to the price of the drums. The cheapest is natural wood under wax alone. A colour costs the same in oil and in lacquer.

Almost everyone takes the stainless steel screws, and most people take the double protection inside the shell. We glue every screw in with Loctite threadlocker so that it does not work loose. With that set, nothing in the drum rusts or goes mouldy over the years.
How to read the product code
Every drum and kit also has a product code. It says the same as the name, only shorter.
The code M1-KMA320-SW is the same kit as above: Polmuz Maple Model 1 – 20/12/16 – Satin White.

On older kits the code may be written differently. The name and the description on the product page are always what counts.
Ready kits
Some kits are ready to go. Each one has its own price on its product page and is not priced from the tables. Model 1 starts at approx. PLN 6,000, Model 2 at approx. PLN 6,500. Model 3 costs approx. PLN 4,300 and Model 4 approx. PLN 3,200.

How much does a custom Polmuz drum kit cost?
The smallest Model 2 kit, 16/10/14 in natural wax, costs PLN 5,444. A 20/12/14 kit costs PLN 5,809, or PLN 7,666 as a Model 1. The price is the sum of the drums, the finish and the add-ons. The snare drum, stands and cymbals are separate.
How much does a colour cost?
The finish is priced per drum. Natural wax costs PLN 100, oil (Satin) or lacquer PLN 500, and flat black PLN 590. Artistic painting is quoted individually.
What do Satin, Artist and Inlay mean in the name of a Polmuz drum?
Satin is an oil finish. Artist is artistic painting, quoted individually. Inlay is a strip of wood set into the shell, a surcharge of PLN 400 per drum.
What do the numbers 20/12/16 in the name of a kit mean?
They are the drum diameters in inches: a 20″ bass drum, a 12″ tom and a 16″ floor tom. The order is always the same: bass drum, toms, floor toms.
Are a snare drum and stands included in the price?
Not in custom Model 1 and Model 2 kits. The price of a drum includes the hardware, the mount or legs and the heads, and you choose the snare drum, stands and cymbals separately. Model 3 comes with a snare, stands and a throne, and Model 4 also with cymbals.
