POLMUZ MODEL 2 WALNUT – MADE IN POLAND

Polmuz is a legendary brand that made the first Polish drums, known to every drummer in Poland. The company was founded in Warsaw in the 1960s, with its factory at 75/77 Grochowska Street. Besides drums, Polmuz also made percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the early 1990s, and then the brand disappeared from the market. In 2018 the team behind DrumStore, a drum shop in Gdynia, revived Polmuz and bought the rights to its name.

Model 2 Walnut is Model 2 in walnut: shells made of 7 plies of walnut, built in our workshop in Gdynia, with simpler hardware than on Model 1. Walnut sounds lower and warmer than maple, while staying clean and focused.

Walnut in Model 2

The same walnut as in the Model 1 Walnut, with Model 2 hardware and heads.

We make the shells from 7 plies of walnut, 5.6 mm in total. Walnut has a lower, full sound, and it still stays focused and clean. It is lighter than bubinga and sounds warmer than maple.

The hardware is chrome and slightly lighter than on Model 1, and the heads are either Polmuz branded or Remo Encore. You choose the finish from the same list as for Model 1.

We make the walnut Model 2 to order and price each kit individually.

We charge the finish per drum:

natural wax: PLN 100,
oil in one colour, fade or solid: PLN 500,
lacquer: PLN 500,
black matte: PLN 590,
artistic finish, painted by hand with a brush: PLN 990.

Gold hardware is PLN 400 per drum, and black chrome is coming soon. We make a size not on the price list for PLN 300 per drum.

Finishes and extras

How we build Model 2

Model 2 is also made in our workshop in Gdynia.

The wood and the bearing edge are the same as on Model 1: a 45° bearing edge, routed, polished and waxed, ultra sharp on every drum, the bass drum included.
Holes drilled to within 0.2 mm, and we draw the hole layout in QCAD.
The tom mounts do not go through the shell.
The hardware is chrome and slightly lighter than on Model 1, which makes the drums cheaper.
Polmuz branded or Remo Encore heads: clear, single-ply, with a muffling ring on the bass drum.
Inside every drum there is a sticker with the owner's name.

What are the shells made of?

The shells are 100% walnut: 7 plies, 5.6 mm in total.

How is the Model 2 Walnut different from the Model 1 Walnut?

The wood is the same. Model 1 has heavier-duty hardware, die-cast claws, sturdy bass drum spurs with a retractable spike and Evans heads as standard.

What warranty does the Model 2 Walnut come with?

We give a lifetime warranty on the shell and 36 months on the hardware.
