POLMUZ MODEL 2 MAPLE – MADE IN POLAND

Polmuz is a legendary brand that made the first Polish drums, known to every drummer in Poland. The company was founded in Warsaw in the 1960s, with its factory at 75/77 Grochowska Street. Besides drums, Polmuz also made percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the early 1990s, and then the brand disappeared from the market. In 2018 the team behind DrumStore, a drum shop in Gdynia, revived Polmuz and bought the rights to its name.

Model 2 Maple is the brother of Model 1: the same maple, the same bearing edge and the same workshop in Gdynia. We just fit slightly lighter hardware, so the drums come at an even better price.

The same maple, simpler hardware

In photos, Model 2 looks almost exactly like Model 1. The differences are in the hardware and the heads, not in the wood.

The shells have 6 plies of maple, 4.8 mm in total, exactly as in Model 1. Maple has balanced mids and highs, a warm low end and rich resonance, so it works in any style.

In Model 1 the hardware is more heavy-duty: die-cast claws, sturdy bass drum spurs with a retractable spike and Evans heads as standard. In Model 2 the hardware is chrome and slightly lighter, and the heads either carry the Polmuz logo or are Remo Encore.

Model 2 Maple drums made to order

We charge the finish per drum:

natural wax: PLN 100,
oil in one colour, fade or solid: PLN 500,
lacquer: PLN 500,
black matte: PLN 590,
artistic finish, painted by hand with a brush: PLN 990.

Gold hardware is PLN 400 per drum, and black chrome is coming soon. We make a size not on the price list for PLN 300 per drum.

How we price a drum kit

How we build Model 2

Model 2 is also made in our workshop in Gdynia.

The wood and the bearing edge are the same as in Model 1: a 45° bearing edge, routed, polished and waxed, ultra sharp on every drum, the bass drum included.
Holes are drilled to within 0.2 mm, and we draw the hole layout in QCAD.
The tom mounts do not go through the shell.
The hardware is chrome and slightly lighter than in Model 1, which makes the drums cheaper.
Heads with the Polmuz logo or Remo Encore: clear, single-ply, with a damping ring on the bass drum.
Inside every drum there is a sticker with the owner's name.
