100% Maple Shells
The Maple series drums are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The primary focus in the design of Polmuz drums was sound quality. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across various musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells are achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers and a focus on shell formation and edge shaping.
Mounting System
The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of the conditions. The streamlined design allows toms to be positioned closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum reduce overall weight.
Hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks away from the brand’s less favorable reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass, the chrome Polmuz badge guarantees and showcases the highest level of craftsmanship for each drum.
Tom Hooks
The tom hooks on Polmuz drum kits are equipped with rubber washers that help protect the wooden rims from damage. In this setup, the hooks and rims form a single, cohesive unit, preventing separation or rattling, even with loose tuning.
Drumheads
The drums feature coated, single-ply batter heads of high quality under the Polmuz branding. The drumheads on the toms are designed with wide damping collars. Meanwhile, the resonant heads are characterized by a vintage-style head with a prominent Polmuz logo.
Edges
The 45° edge bevel ensures that the drumhead contacts the shell at an optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums is meticulously sanded and waxed, providing an ideal contact between the drumhead and the shell. This results in a clear sound across the full frequency range. Sharp edge profiles on the toms deliver a quick attack and short sustain, while the rounded edges on the bass drums produce a unique and warm vintage sound.
Badge
Each drum kit is inspected and personally signed before shipping. The badge includes the serial number of each drum kit, as well as a coded designation of the wood type and size.
Lugs
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body “hovers” above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the drum to resonate fully across its entire range of sound. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that deeply embeds into the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection with both metal and nylon washers to ensure tuning stability.
