POLMUZ TULIPWOOD

Polmuz – a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 60s, and its factories were located at Grochowska 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced at the end of the 90s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist drum store DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring all rights to its name.

Currently, Polmuz offers high-quality drum kits and ethnic instruments, comparable to the best products of its competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to take the Polish drum market by storm, as well as the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.

FEATURES

100% Tulipwood Shells

The shells of the Tulipwood series are made from 6 plies of American tulipwood, with a total thickness of 6.9 mm. The top priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The unique properties of tulipwood give the drums a distinctive sound you won’t experience with any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved by using carefully selected tulipwood layers and focusing on shell forming and bearing edge shape.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and exceptional sound. The lacquer used to finish Tulipwood drums from Polmuz is of the highest quality. The stunning blue color in a matte finish, with natural wooden hoops, will delight even the most discerning tastes. The composition and application method of the lacquer are the same as those used in the top sets of renowned brands.

Mounting System

A non-intrusive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design allows for closer tom placement, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made of aluminum ensure reduced weight.

Hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance provides a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks away from the brand’s past poor reputation. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass, the chrome-plated Polmuz name is both a guarantee and a hallmark of the highest level of craftsmanship for each drum.

Bass Drum Claws

The claws on Polmuz bass drums are equipped with rubber gaskets that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this setup, the claws and hoops form a cohesive unit that doesn’t separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Drumheads

The drums are equipped with high-quality, coated, single-ply batter heads branded with Polmuz. The bass drumheads also feature a wide dampening ring. The resonant heads have a distinctive vintage-style look with a prominent Polmuz logo.

Edges

The 45° edge cut ensures optimal contact with the drumhead. Each bearing edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and waxed, ensuring ideal membrane-to-shell contact. The result of this process is a clear sound across the full frequency range. The sharp edge finish on toms provides a quick attack and short sustain, while the rounded edge on bass drums generates a unique, warm vintage sound.

Sticker

Each drum kit is checked and personally signed before shipment. The label includes the serial number of each drum kit/drum and a designation with a coded type of wood and size.

Tube Lugs

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body “floats” above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across its full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums becoming out of tune, each lug features a long screw that is deeply seated within the lug. Additionally, each lug is equipped with double protection in the form of metal and nylon washers, ensuring tuning stability.
